The idea of perfection is so imperfect

I, like many, have spent so much time in life trying to make everything perfect that life just slips by. As John Lennon once said, “Life is what happens when you are busy making plans.” It’s so true! I have ideas for paintings, books, articles, songs and so many other things but I constantly try to get everything perfect around me to create them. The truth is this is just procrastination. We use things or excuses to put things off and tomorrow never comes.

I did the same for a long time with Twitter and this blog. In the end I just realized that in order to create anything worth while you have to be doing something, you have to reach in order to arrive and most importantly you have to fail in order to succeed. Don’t wait for things to be perfect because nothing in life is perfect and the world is waiting for you to try, today. Have a creative day.

  1. All your photos are amazing…my two favorites are the last one in the first row and the first one in the second row…but the little teddy bear hanging from the gun in the first photo, first row really made a statement. I love Native American folk lure and I read that when a Native American weaves a basket – when it is all done they pull out just one single strand – their reasoning is that those only those things made by the Creator are perfect.

  2. Thank you. I always try and give a variety, and my love of so many interests in the creative world makes the hardest decision I have to make is restricting myself to only 18 each time. Each image I love with equal passion but sometimes one particular image just takes my breath away. In advertising we have term of respect for something that we see and admire, it is, “Shit! I wish I thought of that!” πŸ™‚

  3. I perfectlt agree!
    What is more scary,
you tried hard to be perfect
yet nobody appreciates you in the end
or you come as is — imperfect
    and appreciated?
    Am I off topic?
It’s ok, I want to say it πŸ™‚
And I want that man trying to catch a fish
